The Lemont Civil War Memorial Committee plans to honor the 293 area veterans who fought in the Civil War. The planned memorial features an eagle and will be placed in Legion Park across the street from Lemont's historic train station.

Donations for the Civil War Committee are being accepted at the Lemont Public Library.
