| Wireless
Internet Access |
The Lemont Public Library offers patrons free wireless Internet access. The "hotspot" is called Lemont Library. We currently support A, B, and G standards.
You will also need to obtain a security key code from the front desk or reference desk.
What do I need?
1. A laptop computer
2. A wireless card (built-in, PCMCIA, or USB)
3. TCP/IP settings set to "obtain IP address automatically"
4. Since it is a "public" environment you will need to check the radio button for connecting to an unsecured network.
5. The connection is behind a firewall, but please make sure to have updated virus protection for downloads. What if I do not have a wireless card?
A limited number of "wired" connections are available in the study rooms and north alcove of the library.
You will just have to make sure to have your TCP/IP settings set to "obtain IP address automatically". |
